“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” Nelson Mandela’s words resonate strongly as Years 7–10 prepare for their upcoming assessments and our Year 11 pupils continue to show determination and resilience throughout their GCSEs.
Effective preparation is rooted in good habits: structured revision, frequent review of key knowledge, practising exam techniques, and maintaining a healthy balance between study and rest. Developing these habits early enables pupils to approach assessments with confidence and independence.
At our school, End of Year Assessments are an important part of each pupil’s journey. They help identify strengths, highlight areas for growth, and ensure that every child receives the right support. Beginning this process in Year 7 is particularly valuable, allowing us to assess whether Access Arrangements may be needed, ensuring fairness and opportunity for all.
We are also delighted to introduce a Prizegiving Evening on Monday 13th July at 5pm for pupils and parents in Years 7–10. Further details about the format will follow shortly.
As Proverbs 16:3 reminds us, “Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and He will establish your plans.”
We wish all pupils the very best of luck and have a lovely weekend.
Parent Notices – New Format
We are trialling a new format of communication for parents and carers. At the end of each week, you will receive an email from the school that brings together all key information and important letters relating to your child. This information will also be accessible via ClassCharts, school website, as well as through a link included in the weekly Headmaster’s letter.
We welcome your feedback on this new approach and hope that it will reduce the volume of emails sent home, while making it easier for you to access important information quickly and efficiently.
