A Season of Growth, Guidance, and Giving This term has marked a truly transformational chapter in the life of St Joseph’s. We were delighted to see our journey featured in a recent press release in the Salisbury Journal, which highlighted the many exciting developments taking place across our school. From the introduction of new subjects and broader opportunities to a significant improvement in GCSE results, it is clear that our commitment to excellence is bearing fruit. One of the most impactful events this term was our Post-16 Careers Fair, brilliantly organised by Miss Gale. The evening brought together a wide range of colleges, apprenticeship providers, and career pathways, offering our pupils and their families a wealth of information and inspiration. The feedback we received was overwhelmingly positive, including this heartfelt message from a parent:
“I just wanted to say a big thank you for such a helpful careers information evening. The evening was very professional and respectfully run. All the representatives of all the different Colleges and apprenticeships were extremely informative. My son and I came away from the evening a lot better equipped with knowledge to help make decisions for the future. A very well worth attending event. Thank you St Joseph’s.”
This kind of engagement is central to our mission: to ensure every pupil is equipped with the knowledge, confidence, and support they need to make informed choices about their future.
Today also marks CAFOD’s Fast Day, a time for reflection, compassion, and solidarity with those in need. I want to extend my sincere thanks to Mr Blaho and our Chaplaincy Team for leading this initiative with such care and purpose. Through prayer, awareness, and action, our pupils are reminded of the importance of giving back and living out our values in meaningful ways.
As we celebrate these milestones, I’m reminded of the words from Micah 6:8:
“He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.”
