Cultural Capital in PE

The best that has been thought:

The best that has been said:
  • Pupils study the inspirational and great voices that have shaped the world of sport such as Serena Williams, Sir Alex Ferguson and Baron Pierre de Coubertin.
An appreciation for human creativity:
  • Physical Education fosters an appreciation of human creativity through the study of movement, performance and strategy. Pupils learn how innovation, imagination and problem-solving contribute to skill development, effective teamwork and the advancement of sporting performance.
An appreciation of human achievement:
  • Physical Education fosters an appreciation of human achievement by exploring how dedication, skill and resilience enable individuals and teams to reach their potential. Pupils study both physical excellence and the mental qualities that underpin success in sport.
Cultural capital in PE helps to create pupils who are confident, well-rounded and capable of achieving their potential in sport and physical activity. It fosters an understanding of teamwork, resilience, fair play and ethical values, while encouraging lifelong participation and appreciation of diverse sporting cultures.
