Inclusion

At St Josephs, inclusion is at the heart of everything we do. We are a school in transformation, united by a mission to ensure that every child, regardless of background, need or starting point, can thrive, achieve and feel a true sense of belonging. Our approach is built on high expectations for all pupils, with particular commitment to those with SEND, disadvantaged learners and pupils supported by social care.

We provide a high quality and ambitious curriculum designed to remove barriers and meet individual needs. Through a graduated response model, tailored interventions and strong safeguarding practice, pupils receive timely support that nurtures both learning and wellbeing. Programs such as Thrive, ELSA, mentoring, life coaching and specialist input from external agencies help us respond effectively to a wide range of needs.

Our inclusive culture is strengthened by strong pastoral care, a rich personal development curriculum and opportunities that celebrate diversity and promote respect. Staff are well trained, highly committed and work closely with families and professionals to ensure every pupil is seen, understood and supported.

As a result, pupils at St Josephs feel safe, valued and motivated, and our school community continues to grow in confidence, ambition and unity.
