CAREERS
Careers in Key Stage 3
We believe it’s never too early for young people in secondary school to gain an understanding of the world of work, and to start thinking about their future!
Our Careers programme begins straight away in Year 7, when we introduce pupils to a range of key topics.
This is done through:
- PSHE lessons to develop their knowledge of “self and skills”, careers exploration and research, and to develop Career Management skills
- Careers assemblies and tutor time talks
- Careers Fair
- Personal Guidance by request
- Weekly Lunchtime Careers Drop-in Sessions every Wednesday for years 7, 8 and 9
- Invites to Bath Spa University Workshops in Years 7, 8 and 9 with a visit in Year 9
- Progression and Options workshop in Year 9
Work Experience opportunities are also being developed for KS3, in line with the new Gatsby benchmark and government legislation. This will include opportunities in the year for workplace experiences, based in school with employers supporting and running these.
If you have any questions or feedback about our KS3 Careers programme, please contact our Careers Lead, Miss Gale: vgl@sjcs.org.uk
