Headmaster’s Message– Week 1 (4 Sept 2026)

“Still other seed fell on good soil, where it produced a crop.” (Matthew 13:8)

At the start of a new academic year, we are reminded of the importance of planting seeds in good soil. Through hard work, positive attitudes, strong relationships and a shared commitment between home and school, we create the conditions in which every child can grow, flourish and achieve their potential. The opportunities and habits established now will help shape a successful and rewarding year ahead.

As we conclude our first week of the new academic year, I would like to take this opportunity to thank our pupils for the excellent manner in which they have returned to school. They have approached the start of the year with confidence, enthusiasm and maturity, demonstrating the high standards of conduct, behaviour and commitment that we value so highly as a school community.

It has also been wonderful to see the strong communication between parents, carers, tutors and staff. Working together ensures that every child receives the support they need when necessary, helping them to flourish both academically and personally. This was evident in the Year 11 Mock Reveal Evening yesterday when we witness this strong partnership. Thank you for your continued support and engagement.

Yesterday’s visit to the Houses of Parliament was a tremendous success. Pupils represented the school impeccably and embraced a unique learning opportunity that will undoubtedly remain a memorable experience for many years to come. We are incredibly proud of the way they conducted themselves throughout the trip. I would also like to commend Hannah Lupton for her outstanding commitment to volunteering over the summer. Hannah’s work, linked closely with the Mayor of Salisbury, is a fantastic example of service to the local community and reflects the values we seek to foster in all of our pupils. Well done, Hannah.

As we reflect on such a positive start to the year, we are reminded again of the Parable of the Sower: “The seed falling on good soil refers to someone who hears the word and understands it” (Matthew 13:23). The confidence, excellent conduct and high standards shown by our pupils this week demonstrate the strong foundations being laid for a successful year ahead, and we look forward to seeing them continue to grow and flourish.

Information Evening – Thursday 10^th September

Years 7 & 8: 4:30pm to 5:30pm

Years 9 & 10: 6:00pm to 7:00pm

All teaching staff will be available to discuss their subjects and answer any questions from parents and pupils.

Open Evening – Thursday 17^th September

5:30pm to 7:30pm

The School will be open to prospective pupils.

Tutor Evening (Online) – Thursday 15^th October

All years: 4:30pm to 7:00pm

This will provide an excellent opportunity to discuss your child’s progress and ensure they have made a positive start to the academic year.
