All the staff, pupils and Governors at St Joseph’s Catholic School, where Josie worked, are devastated by the sudden death of a dearly beloved teacher. It has sent shockwaves through the entire school. She has inspired generations of pupils with her endless energy, enthusiasm and dedication.
Mrs Rachel Ridley, Head teacher said “Mrs Bending started teaching at St Joseph’s Catholic School in 2005 and over the years Josie demonstrated her commitment and care of our young people, contributing daily to our ethos and values. She will be very sadly missed, she was an incredibly popular member of the community”.
A memorial area and book of condolences have been set up in school to invite pupils, teachers and all the community to share their memories of this most amazing lady. These will be passed onto her husband and daughter after her funeral.
Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord,
and let perpetual light shine upon them.
May they rest in peace.
