On the afternoon of the 18th of July St Joseph’s students will be doing their part to help raise money for Cancer Research UK by taking part in a Race for Life fun run, hosted at the school. The course will require students to cover a lot of ground and navigate some specially prepared obstacles as they aim to raise as much money as possible for a fantastic cause. Students can run, walk or crawl – it is the taking part that counts! You can check out the course map below:
Every year so many lives and families, not only within our school but also in our local community are affected by cancer. To help students understand the impact cancer is having all around them and to keep everyone motivated we will be creating a Memory Wall within school where students can post messages, explaining who they are running for.
Cancer Research UK are hard at work trying to find a cure and the best way we can support them is by fundraising to help further their studies – together we can beat cancer, once and for all. All students will given a sponsorship form to keep track of promised donations, to be collected after completing the course, with prizes for those students who are able to raise the most. If you wish to make a donation then please visit the school’s JustGiving page at: http://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/sjcs
