I am delighted to inform you that, following a full and rigorous interview process, Mrs R Ridley has been appointed as Headteacher of St. Joseph’s Catholic School.
Mrs Ridley, in her capacity as acting Headteacher, has led the school exceptionally well over the last few months. The Ofsted Inspection last November praised her leadership, stating that there is a clear sense of purpose and high aspiration coming from the acting headteacher which permeates the school.
The governing body was unanimous in ratifying the appointment of Mrs Ridley. The robust two-day interview process was attended throughout by the Director of Education for the Clifton Diocese and by two senior officers from the Local Authority, all of whom supported our choice of candidate.
St. Joseph’s is in a strong place with a steadily increasing number of parents wanting to send their sons and daughters to the school. In the year that celebrates the 50th anniversary of its foundation, the school has the capacity and determination to move to becoming Outstanding. The governors hope to see as many parents and alumni as possible joining us in school on Saturday 12th July.
I take this opportunity of thanking all the members of staff who, working together, make the school such a vibrant and positive place for true learning and for the fullest development of all our pupils. In particular at this time, I wish all those preparing for and taking examinations every success.
May I also thank all of you for your support and pride in the school and for our joint desire to drive St. Joseph’s to new heights and levels of success.
Mr P Hooper Chair of Governors
