This year Francis House have re-adopted 5 Horses at the Riding for the Disabled Riding Centre in Wilton. The Wilton RDA is part of a UK based charity, which focuses on providing horse-riding and carriage driving lessons to people with both developmental and physical disabilities. A few of our St Joseph’s students are volunteers at the Centre and help most weekends across the year. To re-adopt our Horses the Francis students all donated money along with fundraising around the school for the last 2 weeks. On the 9th February, we took 15 Francis students down to the RDA Centre to present the cheque along with meeting the adopted horses and the RDA staff. It was a great experience for our students to see first- hand where the money they fundraised goes to.
The Horses which we have adopted are:
Form 7F = Binky
Form 8F = Spangles
Form 9F = Mr Blue
Form 10F = Chamois
Form 11F = Abraham
The Francis House are proud to support this fantastic charity and hope that the money raised will help the RDA continue doing such great work!
