Inter Boys Dominate!
The second race of the league was held on Tuesday 23rd September on the school field hosted by St Edmund’s. On a glorious afternoon and a new course there were some stunning results from all our runners.
The Minors were the first to go and Joseph Thompson again showed his class by finishing in 6th position with Josh Dyer in 35th place. The girls followed and they were closely bunched with Issy Giodarno in 14th and Catherine Bayada 18th closely followed by Holly Naylor in 19th place.
After finishing in fourth place as a team in the first race just one point behind 3rd and 7 behind 2nd the Junior boys set off next. Again there was a good turn-out from the boys with Thomas Musselwhite leading our team home in 6th with Owen Taylor just behind. Sam Webb was next in in 17th, Ed Nash 25th, Matt Dennis 30th, James Morris 32nd, Stephen Buckett 38th, Harry Granell 39th and Peter Brookbank 42nd.
Probably the most eagerly awaited race of the afternoon was the Inter boys race with Josh Shuter looking to extend his lead over Jaymee Domoney. At the end of the first lap all the St Joseph’s runners were at the head of the pack. In a thrilling finish Josh held on for the win and Jaymee narrowly missed out on 2nd place to finish 3rd. Liam Davis improved on his first race to finish 4th with Dom Butler and Ben Saunby also finishing higher in 6th and 8th respectively. The final runner was Harry Thompson in his first race after injury.
A fantastic effort by you all and keep fit for the next race.
