This past week, 15 lucky Pupils had the opportunity to take part in a Sky Sports Living for Sport Project day, arranged by Miss Goulding and led by Olympic athlete Craig Figes. Craig competed at the London 2012 Olympic Games in Water polo as a member of team GB.
The initiative aims to help students use the skills they develop through sport to build confidence and develop life skills. The day consisted of learning Craigs story and focussed on the 6 keys to success in life which have been developed in partnership with the British Athletes Commission.
The six keys to success are:
2.Hunger to achieve
4.Sports and life knowledge
6.Planning for success
The six keys to success are designed to help young people develop valuable life skills that will help them in and outside of school, now and into the future.
Overall the day was a huge success with all pupils having a great time and taking part in various activities helping them to develop their resilience, determination, self-control, leadership and team work skills.
